MLK Day Activities
The 6th-8th graders of TASC (The Agents of Social Change) Diversity Committee planned virtual MLK activities for the entire NFS community.
In the morning, we had watch parties for each lower school grade, or group of grades. We watched videos created and filmed by NFS Upper School students to demonstrate best behavior around diversity topics like: "different is cool" and "please use my pronouns". Watch parties were followed with a short discussion led by the Upper School Students. In the afternoon, Upper Schoolers, parents, faculty and staff participated in discussion sessions around topics such as race, religion, gender, sexuality, feminism, stereotypes, and socio economic status facilitated by the students themselves.
