When Should I Apply?
Newtown Friends School accepts online applications on a rolling basis throughout the year, considering applicants as space permits. Although January 15 is the first admissions deadline, applications continue to be welcomed after that date and considered with respect to school capacity. Our commitment to small classes, individualized attention, and an exceptional academic experience are at the core of our admissions policy.

Step 1 - Apply Online
Complete the online application
Submit $50 application fee
Applicants request teacher recommendation(s) and school records
SSAT is optional for incoming sixth through eighth-grade students -
Step 2 - Classroom Visits and Enrollment Interview
- Upon receipt of an application, your child will be invited for a formal classroom visit during the school day.
- Pre-kindergarten applicants (four years old before the school year begins) will visit in arranged playgroups to confirm readiness.

Step 3 - Enrollment Confirmed and Reserved
After an acceptance decision, parents submit an enrollment agreement and reservation deposit.

We’re a private, independent school, reflecting a diverse and inclusive school community. Families love our emphasis on kindness, equality, belonging, and service.
What Other Factors Influence Admission?
NFS makes every attempt to meet each student’s needs. We take great care in considering applicants and listening to parents as we make enrollment decisions. There are times when we find that a student has difficulties with behavior, emotional stability, or learning differences that are beyond the scope of NFS’s capabilities.
